Welcome To Metta Health Care & IV Therapy Clinic
Intravenous Nutritional Therapy (IV Therapy Clinic) is a way of “feeding” nutrients directly into the bloodstream. This is helpful because the process bypasses the GI tract and goes directly into circulation to be used in the body. IV therapy can create therapeutic blood levels of certain nutrients.
When substances are given orally they must be processed through the stomach and the intestines. Many substances may be rendered inactive in the digestive tract, or may not be well absorbed due to poor intestinal function.
By directly administering nutrients to the body higher than normal blood levels can be achieved. These increased levels can provide an immediate therapeutic response by correcting deficiencies that may arise from a disease state.
Increasingly we see patients whose gastrointestinal tract (stomach and intestine) is damaged by pathogens (virus, bacteria, toxic exposures). Other conditions that can affect absorption are hydrochloric acid or digestive enzymes deficiency, lack of friendly gut bacteria that aid digestion. The damage or deficiency makes it nearly impossible for the patient to absorb therapeutic dose of nutrients or medications.
This is the main reason our IV therapy clinic is so effective: the nutrients bypass the GI tract, and entire right into the blood stream where they can be shuttled directly to where they are needed-the cells. An example of this is High Dose Vitamin C. Many studies and clinical data show that high doses of Vitamin C stimulate the immune system and can fight cancer. But the GI tract usually cannot tolerate more than 10-40 grams per day. So it only makes sense to offer High Dose Vitamin C by IV infusion.
Another reason IV therapy is so useful is because many times we may consume nutrients, either in food or supplement, and they are not in their active form or metabolite. Our bodies are supposed to activate the nutrients. But in the case of disease, or genetic variable, our bodies may not convert those nutrients into the active metabolite. Using IV therapy, the active metabolites are delivered directly to the cells without the body having to use energy to activate them.
Scientific research has demonstrated that a variety of conditions can benefit from the use of IV nutrition. A few of the conditions that may be helped using IV nutrition techniques include hypertension, COPD, asthma, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, diabetes, hepatitis, and even the common cold.
